Paradise Meadows Music Festival with
Mr. Completely and Friends is set to rock your socks off once again on August 1, 2009. This will be the second time for
Mr. C to host this event on the long weekend in August.
Mr. Completely will be sharing the stage with some of the North Islands finest talent. Music runs from noon till midnight with one night of overnight camping. This all takes place in a beautiful 60 acre meadow with the Oyster River running around two sides of the land and is set on private property on Macaulay Rd. in Black Creek. “Last year went really well and the bands performed amazingly” says Jamie Robertson, lead vocalist for Mr. Completely. Most of the music will revolve around rock but there are a few other genres thrown into the mix ranging from Folk, Country, Funk, Electronic and Bagpipes all the way to meat and potatoes classic rock. “Last year we were just getting our feet wet and didn’t have much time to organize the event. This year we are starting early and are hoping to have things run even more smoothly than they did last year” says Jamie, “We know what we need to do now and it has made it much easier for planning”.
The bands performing this year include
Badfish, Steelhead, Bananafish, Doug Folkins, Level 9, Inclusion, DJ Neon Steve, Norah Erickson, Kentucky Katfight, Crimson Reign, CR Legion Bagpipe Band and Mr. Completely. This was a very popular event last year and sold out. Even though there are a few hundred more tickets this year, they will go fast so if you are interested in going, don’t wait until the last minute to get them. Also, this year the camping passes are available in advance at ticket outlets.
Wristbands and camping passes for the event can be purchased at Music Plant in Campbell River, Balloons ‘N’ More in Willow Pt., Forbidden Zone in Oyster River, Merville Store and Got it, Need it, Want it in Courtenay as well as online on Mr. Completely’s website.
There will be horseshoes, badminton, volleyball, bouncy castles, as well as food and artist vendors available for your convenience. This is an all ages event but there will be a licensed area, with a great view of the stage, run by the Pipe Band. 98.9 Jetfm will be one of our sponsors this year. Roo Phelps, formerly of the Jetfm (now a DJ on JRFM in Vancouver) will MC the first part of the day and Robyn Nicholson will then take over and MC the latter part. There will also be some amazing prize giveaways as well. Gates will open at 10 am and checkout will be before 1pm on Sunday.
