The next art exhibit at Comox Valley Art Gallery is the 2011 CVAG Juried Members Show. This exhibit which runs from March 5 – April 16, 2011, will feature all types of art. Video, drawings, paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and fibre arts are some of the genres that will be represented. There is no theme this year, so artists are encouraged to work with any concept, theme or subject matter.

What does it mean to be a “juried” show? Once the art work has been installed, a panel of jurors will assess the art on a variety of merits; these categories have not been created at press time, but will be discussed by the jury. The labels will be covered so that jurors will not be able to identify the names of artists. Selected outstanding works will be recognized and awards will be presented at the opening reception on Friday, March 4th.
