Our goal is to raise $50,000 and we can do it with your participation! What will we do with $50,000?

Your participation in this event will support the exhibition programming -- including upcoming exhibitions in 2011 of artwork by Robert Bateman, renowned wild life artist, environmentalist and naturalist, as well as emerging artist Blaine Campbell of Vancouver BC and Liz Carter of Campbell River BC. CVAG is also host to the annual Emily Carr University at North Island College Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduation Exhibition, one of the most exciting shows of contemporary art in the Comox Valley. Also, each year we are honoured to provide the CVAG North Island College Foundation Fine Arts Bursary Fund. Funds raised also enable us to develop our art education program, and to augment the care, conservation and development of the permanent art collection.
As the region’s only public art gallery presenting art exhibitions of a provincial and national level, we are committed to the quality of programming and services we provide. We hope you will consider attending and contributing to the success and growth of the Comox Valley Art Gallery this year.

Comox Valley Art Gallery’s 11th Biennial Gala Art Auction, "An Affair to Remember", takes place on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 from 6:30pm – 11pm at the The Florence Filberg Centre in downtown Courtenay. Attire for the evening is inspired by the 1957 film, An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant & Deborah Kerr. The Auctioneer for the evening is Jason Fitzgerald of Campbell River Auctions Ltd. Todd Butler, Musician and Satirist of Comox Valley BC http://www.toddbutler.com/ is the MC and live music is provided by the Niall Harvey Trio playing Jazz, Latin and Contemporary music http://www.georgiastraightjazz.com/profiles.html

DONATE an artwork to be auctioned!
• Anyone can donate an artwork to be auctioned - do you have artwork at home in an attic or in storage that could be loved in a new home?
• All donors will receive a charitable tax receipt after the event - By federal law the tax receipt is based on the amount the artwork is sold for
• All artwork must be in good condition, framed and ready to hang or display and delivered to the gallery by Saturday September 4th at 4:30pm
• CVAG reserves the right to refuse artwork that is deemed inappropriate

VOLUNTEER at the event on Saturday October 2nd!
• The CVAG team would love your enthusiastic smiling face at the art auction!
• Assist food and beverage team, serving appetizers and bussing tables
• And/or assist the Set Up and Tear Down team, setting up tables, chairs, linens, hanging artwork and clean up
• And/or Assist the Auction Team, setting up the Silent Auction, set up and wrap up of display tables
• Volunteers are able to bid on auction items based on a minimum shift of 4 hours
